Sums it up nicely. Our people are going to be electing councillors to serve on new councils and existing parish and town councils in May. None of those councils have any influence over policies like immigration or other national issues.You will be voting for people who you believe will work hardest for the communities they serve. The new West Kent Unitary will control adult social care, children's services, highways and rights of ways, waste services and community services.Unitary councils will have zero control of small boats yet many people will vote for Reform and Restore who are single issue parties. No wonder when they get elected so many resign, they didn't understand the job they were expected to do.Don't take that risk.
Amazing news from East Kent with significant implications for the whole county ahead of elections next year.This also demonstrates the need to build a strong enough campaign to win enough seats to be able to deliver enough Green councillors to make a real difference in the new West Kent Council and replicate the successful records of Green-led councils at Maidstone and Folkestone and Hythe.Get in touch if you want to be part of the change locally as a leafleter, canvasser or even as a candidate.#kentgreens#getinvolved #WeCanWinHereThe news of Dr Ingrid Dodd's election as Dover and Deal District Councillor for Guston, Kingsdown and St Margaret's-at-Cliffe is excellent news and is a clear example of what can be achieved across Kent in the unitary elections in May 2027.Dover and Deal Green Party now have their first district councillor and having a Green in the room makes a real difference.They ran a great campaign but the results also demonstrate what happens when the right leaning vote is split in a way that historically has been a problem for more progressive parties. This pattern is likely to be replicated again and again. Increasingly so now Restore Britain are also targeting the same voters as Reform UK and the Conservatives.The fact is that Dr Dodd and her team increased the Green vote share to push on and win here and we need to make that happen wherever we stand.Absolutely brilliant!#KentGreens#DoverandDealGreenParty
