Volunteer

We always welcome volunteers to help with our campaigning work. Could you help deliver our newsletters to your street, or go out with our campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns?

Whatever your level of experience and however much or little time you can give, we would love to hear from you. Contact us by emailing info@tmgreens.org.uk.

DofE With the Green Party

The Volunteering section of the DofE programme is often the most rewarding, uplifting and memorable part of your DofE adventure. It can, however, sometimes be hard to find a good opportunity for those under the age of 16. If this is you, then we would love to have you with us for your DofE!

Whatever your level of experience and however much or little time you can give, we would love to hear from you. Contact us by emailing info@tmgreens.org.uk.

Tonbridge and Malling Green Party

We campaign for social and environmental justice in the Kentish borough of Tonbridge and Malling.

We were delighted to see so many people this morning at town lock to join us on the Tonbridge town centre litter pick.Cllrs Anna Cope, Stacey Pilgrim, Paul Stepto and Mark Hood were told about some larger items which we will ask TMBC to collect along with the big pile of litter bags. We have also been supplied with some signs warning litterbugs that the maximum fine for littering has increased to £500, it is still referenced as being £50 on some old signs. If you want a sign for a grotspot near you let us know, our next litterpick will be in Hadlow.Thank you to everyone who came along today.#tonbridge #lovewhereyoulive ... See MoreSee Less

Todays Reform Fact Check focusses on the claim that the administration is saving £7.5m by cutting the cost of replacing diesel and petrol vehices with electric ones. The facts are that once the cost of the vehicles, fuel and maintenance costs have all been factored in the cost between replacement by conventional vehicles and EVs was almost identical. The price of electric vans is also coming down as more comepetition enters the market. KCC owns two solar farms so it would be able to provide the electricity itself because the council has previously bid for decarbonisation funding from central government to pay for the solar farms, basically free money for Kent to improve our sustainablility. Scrapping our Climate Change commitment will mean we see no further bids and other counties will benefit from future rounds of funding and we will miss out. This is a good example of Reform UK looking at future year's budgets and deciding to slash spending without looking at the detail. Their obsession with opposing anything related to net zero is clouding their judgement instead of looking at things through a financial lens analytically to see where the best value lies for Kent council tax payers. The ambition to replace the fleet was scheduled for 2028 by which time the county council could be abolished so that budget line may even be hypothetical. #kentcountycouncil#kent#ReformChaos ...
