Education & Children
At the Tonbridge and Malling Green Party, we believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life. That’s why we’re committed to creating a fair, inclusive, and supportive education system that works for everyone. Our policies are designed to ensure that no child is left behind, and we’re working hard, not just during elections, to make this vision a reality.
Improve SEND Provision & Options
Children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) deserve tailored support to help them reach their full potential. We will expand the SEND provision, ensuring that every child has access to the resources, facilities, and specialist staff they need. This includes working closely with schools, parents, and experts to create inclusive and accessible learning environments. No child should be left behind because of a lack of support.
Support Enrichment Clubs & Schemes
Education isn’t just about the classroom—it’s about nurturing well-rounded individuals. We will support after-school clubs, sports teams, and creative arts programs to give children opportunities to explore their passions, develop new skills, and build confidence outside of formal lessons. These activities are essential for personal growth and help children discover their talents and interests.
Improve Support for Fostered Children
Fostered children deserve stability, love, and the chance to succeed. We will work to improve support for foster carers and ensure that fostered children have access to the same opportunities as their peers, including education, extracurricular activities, and mental health services. Every child in care should feel valued and supported.
Improve Support for Care Leavers
Leaving care can be a challenging transition. We will provide care leavers with the tools they need to thrive as independent adults, including access to housing, education, employment support, and mentorship programs. No young person should feel alone as they step into adulthood.
