On the 24th of November, Green Party councillor Paul Stepto joined a team of dedicated volunteers to tackle overgrown pathways and litter along Tudeley Lane. Starting at 10:30 am, the group braved the windy weather to make the area safer and more accessible for residents. Armed with tools and enthusiasm, they worked tirelessly to clear brambles and rubbish from the pathways, making a visible difference to the route.
The effort was part of an ongoing commitment by Green Party councillors and volunteers to maintain and improve public spaces in Tonbridge. Cllr Mark Hood, a fellow Green Party councillor, played a key role in preparing the area for the clean-up. On the 23rd of November, he brought in heavy machinery to remove larger sections of bramble, laying the groundwork for the following day’s efforts. This teamwork not only sped up the process but also ensured that volunteers could focus on finer details and litter collection.
The Green Party continues to advocate for better maintenance of public walkways and green spaces, recognising their importance to the community. Clearing brambles and rubbish not only improves safety but also enhances the natural beauty of the area, encouraging residents to walk and cycle rather than rely on cars.
This event highlights the positive impact of collaboration between councillors and the community. If you’d like to join future clean-ups or have suggestions for areas needing attention, please reach out by emailing us at info@tmgreens.org.uk. Together, we can keep Tonbridge a clean, green place to live.
As always, thank you Sam Gallon for the wonderful Photography
