The Tonbridge and Malling Green Party is delighted to share the great news that the Tonbridge Model Engineering Society has secured a 25-year lease for their much-loved site.
This long-term agreement gives the society the security it needs to continue delivering joy, creativity, and inspiration to the people of Tonbridge for years to come. For decades, the society has been a cherished part of the local community, offering visitors of all ages the chance to experience the wonder of miniature railways, engineering marvels, and hands-on craftsmanship.
A secure lease means the society can now plan confidently for the future — investing in maintenance, improving facilities, and expanding their events. This is more than just a win for the society; it’s a win for the whole community.
Tonbridge and Malling Green Party councillors, have all praised the news, recognising the important role the society plays in bringing people together, encouraging learning, and offering affordable family activities.
Community groups like the Tonbridge Model Engineering Society highlight exactly what makes our area so special — volunteers giving their time, passion, and skills to create something magical for others. It’s a reminder that when we support our local organisations, we invest in shared spaces that bring joy and pride to us all.
The Green Party will continue to champion community-led projects like this, ensuring they have the backing they need to thrive for the long term. Congratulations to everyone at the Tonbridge Model Engineering Society, we can’t wait to see what the next 25 years will bring.
